Property Flood Resilience Foundation Training

Designed and delivered by CIWEM & Partners and commissioned by the Environment Agency, this comprehensive suite of Property Flood Resilience (PFR) training unifies the PFR industry and establishes competencies for those delivering PFR in accordance with the Code of Practice for PFR.

The Foundation modules introduce the attendees to the elements of property flood resilience (PFR) within the context of flood risk management. It will provide answers to what is it like to have your home flooded? What is PFR – resistance and resilience? Why is PFR needed? What are its limitations and where can things go wrong? What are the issues that need to be addressed? This Foundation Training will provide context around PFR, the expectations of each stakeholder for delivery and the roles and responsibilities of all involved in the delivery chain. 

The cost of the course is £190.00 + VAT = £228.00.

The course is self-paced e-learning via the CIWEM Learning centre with a live trainer led virtual surgery session to finish (i.e. you will need to complete the e-learning modules and the practical exercise prior to attending the live surgery session). The live session is compulsory to successfully complete the course and obtain your CPD certificate.

This training is available to anyone who has an interest in PFR or the effects of flooding. Foundation Training is the pre-requisite for the technical training associated to each standard of the PFR Code of Practice and is a minimum technical requirement for the Environment Agency’s new PFR Framework which will be tendered in spring 2022.

This training has a learning time equivalent to 10 hours (including module learning hours, a live classroom session and a practical exercise), and you will have four months access, from the course start date, to the CIWEM Learning Platform.
