 mpathy is not a soft skill\, it’s a strategic skil
 l. In the context of flood and coastal risk manage
 ment\, the ability to understand others’ perspecti
 ves is vital for both internal collaboration and c
 ommunity impact.</p>\n \n <p>This session explores
  cognitive empathy – the thinking side of empathy.
  Cognitive empathy is the ability to understand an
 other person’s perspective\, to see a situation th
 rough their eyes\, without needing to feel their e
 motions. It’s a crucial skill for leading high-per
 forming teams\, building trust\, and delivering so
 lutions that serve real communities.</p>\n \n <p>I
 n this interactive session\, we’ll explore how cog
 nitive empathy underpins psychological safety – th
 e foundation for effective collaboration\, innovat
 ion\, and inclusion. We’ll also look at how empath
 y plays a vital role in ethical\, community-focuse
 d decision-making – particularly when engaging wit
 h people affected by flooding\, climate uncertaint
 y or infrastructure change.</p>\n \n <p>Co-deliver
 ed by JBA Consulting and Scaffold Coaching\, this 
 session blends leadership coaching\, applied psych
 ology\, and practical insight from the world of FC
