E-Learning - Anaerobic Digestion

This module covers the principles and the processes underpinning the anaerobic digestion [AD] of sewage sludge and other organic materials such as agricultural and food wastes. It considers feed materials; the underlying chemistry and biochemistry of the AD process; the equipment and plant used for AD; biogas generation, harvesting and utilisation for power generation and combined heat and power [CHP] processes and the reuse or disposal options for digestion residues.

The module also explores the current UK policy of encouraging take up of AD as part of its overall renewables strategy, and issues surrounding the application of anaerobically digested stabilised sewage sludges on agricultural/horticultural land.

The cost of the module is £500.00 (inc. VAT). This module has a learning time equivalent to 8 hours spread over 5 weeks.
